Evident Change, along with the State of California Child Welfare Digital Services, is pleased to announce that SafeMeasures® and Structured Decision Making® (SDM) assessments for child welfare will be integrated into California’s new administrative data system, CWS-CARES.

California child welfare workers have used SafeMeasures and SDM® assessments for decades. With integration into CWS-CARES, California child welfare staff will continue to have easy access to top-tier decision support and data analytics to aid their work, along with the support of Evident Change’s expert cross-disciplinary staff.

SafeMeasures is Evident Change’s secure, web-based data monitoring and reporting service, which provides reports and data dashboards for social service system professionals. Workers can use SafeMeasures to target their time, supervisors and managers can see where more attention is needed, and administrators can measure unit performance.

SDM assessments help child protection staff make more accurate and equitable decisions to support kids and families. With an assessment for each decision point in a child welfare case, the SDM model combines research and best practices to supplement workers’ clinical judgment as they work with families.
