This report outlines the results of a comprehensive evaluation of Michigan’s SDM system. The design of this system was a joint effort of the Michigan Department of Social Services and CRC. The primary objective of the system is to improve decision making, case planning, and case management, thus reducing the incidence of child abuse and neglect in families referred to child protective services. The following is a 30-page summary of the system and the major findings of the evaluation completed in 1995.
