Vice Media and the Bail Project have teamed up to produce a series of articles that humanize the topic of pre-trial electronic monitoring. Seen as an alternative to cash bail, many jurisdictions require individuals to pay a monthly fee for being monitored. This only exacerbates difficulties for those who may have no or little income. The Vice article tells the personal stories of those who must pay for monitoring through both the written word and in vibrant comics by Christina Stewart, a cartoonist also known as Steenz. The first article in the series is available here.
