Robert Listenbee, Jr., Appointed as Administrator of the Federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention

This week Robert Listenbee, Jr. began his tenure as Administrator of the federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Before taking this position, Listenbee led the juvenile defense unit at the Defender Association in Philadelphia, where he worked to reduce racial disproportionalities and improve children’s access to quality counsel.
This week Robert Listenbee, Jr. began his tenure as Administrator of the federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Before taking this position, Listenbee led the juvenile defense unit at the Defender Association in Philadelphia, where he worked to reduce racial disproportionalities and improve children’s access to quality counsel. He recently co-chaired the Attorney General’s National Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence (also known as the Defending Childhood Task Force). Listenbee is the first African American to be appointed to this position as well as the first permanent administrator OJJDP has had in over four years.
