Prevalence of Violent Crime Among Households with Children, 1993-2010

On Wednesday September 12, 2012, The Bureau of Justice Statistics released a report detailing the prevalence of violent crimes in households with children from 1993-2010. BJS was able to determine the occurrence of violence in households with children of certain age groups, and was also able to compare the incidence of violence in urban and low income households. According to the report, in 2010 2.8 million children lived in households in which children, 12 years old or older, were victims of violent crimes.
