In our latest guest blog, Miriam Aroni Krinsky (pictured left), a national policy consultant on youth violence prevention and juvenile justice issues, speaks about her experiences as the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Citizens’ Commission on Jail Violence. The commission spent many months conducting a thorough investigation of the nature, depth, and cause of the problem of inappropriate deputy use of force in the Los Angeles County jail system.

In our latest guest blog, Miriam Aroni Krinsky (pictured left), a national policy consultant on youth violence prevention and juvenile justice issues, speaks about her experiences as the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Citizens’ Commission on Jail Violence. The commission spent many months conducting a thorough investigation of the nature, depth, and cause of the problem of inappropriate deputy use of force in the Los Angeles County jail system. Shortly afterward on September 28, 2012, the commission issued its final report, which offered dozens of recommendations for corrective action in the areas of management, culture, personnel, discipline, and oversight. Alex Busansky, president of NCCD, was one of seven commission members.
