August 25, 2016 | by NCCD
A new report focuses on the growing population of girls who are incarcerated in adult correctional facilities. Two NCCD staff members, Antoinette Davis and Caroline Glesmann, along with former NCCD intern Andrea Gentile, wrote the report, which summarizes current research and recommends actions to improve conditions and outcomes for girls in adult facilities. Released by the National Institute of Corrections, “No Place for Youth: Girls in the Adult Justice System—Gender-Responsive Strategies for Justice-Involved Women and Girls,” can be read here.
