The L.A. Citizens’ Commission on Jail Violence met on Friday, July 6th, and the line-up of LASD people who testified at the all-day hearing is an interesting one. The witnesses included both working members of the department and one or two who are recently retired, all of whom, apparently, are in possession of lot of valuable knowledge of the department’s problems. The ultimate effectiveness of their testimony depends, of course, on how much each person is willing to say.
