Georgia DJJ’s Joe Vignati Commends NCCD at Juvenile Justice Hearing

Assistant Commissioner Joe Vignati of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice acknowledged NCCD for its help in moving forward his state’s juvenile justice reform at a hearing before the US House Judiciary Committee. During his June 22 testimony, Vignati urged the use of validated risk assessments when making decisions that affect system-involved young people. He specifically mentioned NCCD’s validation of Georgia’s assessment that guides the appropriate placement of youth.
