Fresno County OKs Housing Aid to Ex-Cons

Fresno County is setting aside money to provide housing for former criminals who have no place to live after completing their sentences. The county will also spend millions in state realignment money on reform programs to promote rehabilitation as an alternative to incarceration.

Fresno County is setting aside money to provide housing for former criminals who have no place to live after completing their sentences. The county will also spend millions in state realignment money on reform programs to promote rehabilitation as an alternative to incarceration. Alex Busansky, president of the National Council on Crime and Delinquency, says that these initiatives are both effective and less expensive than incarceration costs.
