The California Department of Justice (DOJ) is asking residents of Kern County, California, to weigh in on how they think the Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is performing. These listening sessions will help the office meet the requirements of a stipulated judgment issued by DOJ in 2020. Evident Change is involved in monitoring KCSO’s reform progress, with Dr. Angie Wolf, chief program officer, serving as co-monitor. The monitoring team issued its first report in January, and this news story includes a link to the full report, which describes recommendations for KCSO policies across eight categories.
