Anatomy of a Jails Commission Meeting: Part 1 – A Reluctant Sergeant Testifies

On Monday May 14th, the members of the Los Angeles County Citizens’ Commission on Jail Violence heard testimony for the third month in a row. The jails commission was appointed by the LA County supervisors last fall to investigate the problems in the County’s violence-plagued jail system, and then to offer recommendations to improve the system. NCCD’s President Alex Busansky was chosen by the five appointed members of the commission to join them in investigating jail violence.
