The Attorney General’s National Task Force on Children Exposed to Violence, a key component of the Department of Justice’s Defending Childhood Initiative, held the last of four public hearings on April 24 in Detroit, Michigan. Composed of leading experts from diverse fields and perspectives, the task force is examining the extent and nature of the problem of children’s exposure to violence as witnesses or victims and identifying policies and promising practices to address this epidemic.
