It’s time to register for the 2016 NCCD Conference on Children, Youth, and Families! Located in sunny coastal Garden Grove, California, the conference will be held October 4–6 and includes an immense variety of tracks, sessions, and special events. Come share your good work, enjoy the California weather, and learn from some of the best from around the globe! 

It’s time to register for the 2016 NCCD Conference on Children, Youth, and Families! Located in sunny coastal Garden Grove, California, the conference will be held October 4–6 and includes an immense variety of tracks, sessions, and special events. Come share your good work, enjoy the California weather, and learn from some of the best from around the globe! 

At the conference, Dr. William Bell of Casey Family Programs will present an invigorating keynote to begin three days of skills sharing, networking, learning, exploration, and fun with other change-makers and stakeholders in child welfare, juvenile and criminal justice, and education. Media for a Just Society Awards events will include a special screening of the finalist documentary Prison Kids and a chance to meet Making a Murderer creators Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, who will be accepting the Distinguished Achievement Award. 

Day one of the conference will feature half- and full-day workshops facilitated by experts in their fields, including Nicki Weld (child welfare), Scott Burdick (SafeMeasures®), and others.

Over the next two days, the conference offers more than 40 sessions, organized into six notable tracks. 

  • Building Your Skills: Focus on building your skills in assessment, understanding vulnerable populations, and more.  

  • Cross-Systems Collaboration: Understand and tackle issues in child welfare and juvenile justice in an interdisciplinary and multidimensional way. 

  • Transforming Our Systems: Look at system reform possibilities and learn about the tools that might help. 

  • Creating a Data-Driven Culture: Learn about the importance of data in creating solutions across systems. 

  • Using Decision-Support Tools: Gain knowledge about how such tools, including those created by NCCD, can help improve outcomes for youth and families.  

  • Leadership and Engagement: Facilitators share skills on leading the way to creating solutions, measuring success, and ultimately improving outcomes.  
     

Spend your entire time in one track, or piece together different sessions to create an even more dynamic experience.
